In 1998, a group of 6th graders in Northville, MI founded Kids 4 Afghan Kids, a Michigan-based non-profit organization. The goal of Kids 4 Afghan Kids is to re-establish educational facilities for boys and girls in Afghanistan and to address the children's desperate health conditions. Those and successive generations of students have raised money, under the guidance of their teacher, to build three schools, a medical clinic, an orphanage and a community well for the residents of a remote area 3 hours southwest of Kabul.

We are an organization that is driven by American students to make a better world for their fellow students in Afghanistan.
Our mission is to provide humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people, including returning refugees, to create an opportunity for cooperative efforts between the United States and Afghanistan, and to develop and enhance educational and cultural understanding and exchange opportunities.

Khris Nedam, the teacher who helped begin Kids 4 Afghan Kids and is still the organization's US Director, received a 2007 award for Citizen Diplomacy!
Khris Nedam addressed the Sarasota World Affairs Council in April, 2014 and again in 2022.
